Aspects of Martial Arts

Each aspect is pivotal in all martial arts and must be explored in oneself

Respect

The value of respect is not only for others but also of yourself. Self-forgiveness and acceptance comes from this needed value.

Discipline

Only through self-assurance and dedication can one achieve their goals. Pursuing any new journey requires vigilance and discipline.

Physical Fitness

Maintaining a healthy lifestyle allows you to focus on what you need to grow in outside of it. Having good physical fitness can only ever benefit you.

What to expect:

A Typical Class

Karate

A class begins with the bowing in ceremony. This is to convey respect and to get us in the right mind for training. From here we will do Junbi Undo (warmup exercises) to help avoid injuries. We will then focus on Karate techniques in solo or group drills. Following this we will do stretches. Finally, we will do the ending bowing ceremony. First class is always free so you can see if Karate is right for you.

Tai Chi

Tai chi is about balance and control over one's body and breathing. The class involves slow, intentional movements towards maintaining balance in oneself. The class is 30 minutes long and we go through a variety of techniques in a safe and guided manner.
